Preparing for your first visit…

We look forward to meeting you and your family pet soon. During the scheduled consultation, a “conscious oral exam” including a brief physical exam, will be done to the best of our ability, or to what your pet will allow. Dr. Winter will advise you of the preliminary diagnosis and what treatment options are available for you to consider. Anesthetic and procedural risks will also be discussed. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Based on our initial impression, we will provide an itemized treatment plan for the cost of the services and any options. Keep in mind, a thorough oral assessment of your pet’s condition is not complete until an exam and intraoral radiographs are performed under general anesthesia. It is not uncommon that many conditions are more involved than what owners or referring veterinarians may have perceived. If the findings differ from the original discussion, we will always call you to explain. For this reason, we require a contact phone number where you can be reached at all times while your pet is with us.

Prior to the appointment please review these few topics to insure that we get all the necessary information before your pet’s appointment.
